Ali’s love affair with hospitality began at Warwick University working in the Arts Centre bar to fund her studies. In 2002 she chose the chocolate box appeal of a Hampshire Country Inn over a Free-trade sales career.
Earning her industry stripes revolutionising the fortunes of all her pubs, and co-founding a Micro Brewery, Ali exchanged her career as a multi award-winning operator in 2007, setting up a Training and Business Support company specialising in hospitality.
Now, as the founder MD of CaterCost – the online menu management software for independent food operators, which combines menu costing with nutritional analysis and allergen tracking– she is regarded as the ‘Queen of Profit’ for independent food operators, helping them save time and make more money.
Her book “Eat your Competition for Lunch” was published in 2015 to much acclaim, and she has recently worked alongside Alex Politzi as Alex’s ‘Pub Expert’ the most recent series of Chanel 5’s Hotel Inspector.
Since spotting an emerging trend towards ‘healthy eating’ and ‘veganism’ Ali has pioneered a catering resource for caterers with her blog ‘If not meat then what’.
