The Publican Awards judging process remains one of the most comprehensive, rigorous and reputable in the industry – ensuring that the awards remain the most respected in the pub trade. Our goal is to provide entrants with a realistic audit on their business, as well as guaranteeing that all awards are given fairly and deservedly.
Stage One is an initial entry where companies can choose their category and provide us with facts and figures to support their application. This process is undertaken via our official entry website. For a detailed walk-through of what is involved in this stage, please refer to the “How to enter The Publican Awards” video on our “Enter” Page.
All successful entrants will be shortlisted, proceeding onto stage two.
Stage Two provides you with a chance to really sell your company and impress one of our judges. The Head Judge from your chosen category will pay a visit to your company. This is your opportunity to introduce them to key people in your business and give them a tour of some of your operations to really bring your business to life and showcase what makes you a winner.
This one is around to keep you on your toes. Keeping up a constant, high level of customer service and overall quality will carry you through this round. This is also a fantastic opportunity to get a neutral audit of your pub from a qualified mystery shopper, who will keep track of everything from speed of service through to hygiene – make the most of it and find out what your pub looks like in somebody else’s shoes!
And finally, our Panel Judging day. Hosted in the Pullman London St Pancras Hotel, each company will send their key representatives for a quizzing on what they think makes their company tick. This “Dragon’s Den” style grilling will see each finalist put under the spotlight by a panel of key industry experts, and is seen as the toughest stage of the process.
Our judges are a vital piece of The Publican Awards, as they are the basis of the robust entry process that ensures the awards remain the most respected in the industry. The judging panel are picked from a whole host of different categories to ensure that we have experts in every relevant field to help us decide who is truly the most deserving of each award. Final 2019 judging list to be announced soon. Join us on Tuesday 12 March 2019 to find out who was successful.
