Starting out on local luxury lifestyle magazines and websites gave Morning Advertiser Food and Drink Editor Nicholas Robinson his first insight into the finer things of life.
Whether it was fine dining, fancy cocktails, art or music, Nicholas experienced some of the best the UK had to offer.
Early on in his career, Nicholas freelanced for design magazines such as Imagine Animation, where he interviewed and began to understand the minds of creatives such as Aardman animator Jim Parkyn, who worked on cartoons including Wallace and Gromit and Shaun The Sheep.
During his early career, Nicholas also gave up his weekends to edit and create content for website and online community My Online World, which was developed for children with muscular dystrophy. He found this extremely rewarding and humbling.
The past six years have been spent writing about food and drink, from how it is made to where and how it is served.
For almost three years now, Nicholas has ploughed an enormous amount of effort into The Morning Advertiser’s food and drink content, ensuring it informs, entertains and inspires the thousands of publicans, chefs and bar staff who use the website and read the magazine each day.
He is also the face of the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs website, awards and events, where he feels extremely lucky to work with and write about some of the UK’s greatest chefs and pub.
